WELCOME! Our Preliminary Application for 2024-25 Is Now Closed
A great benefit of having a spectacular 25-acre campus is the outstanding athletic facilities it houses so students have easy access to health, fitness, and sports activities.
On-site access is integral to the Middle and Upper School student experience at Poly. The Dyker Heights location offers a wide variety of athletic facilities for budding athletes and fitness enthusiasts.
FIELDS
- Our state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly turf fields are home to Poly’s Football, Boys’ and Girls’ Soccer, Boys’ and Girls’ Lacrosse, and Softball programs.
- Poly has a full regulation-size turf field that’s primary use is for Boys’ and Girls’ Soccer as well as for junior varsity teams.
- Our baseball players train and compete on the Matt Roventini Baseball Field, named for Poly’s longtime coach.
- The upgraded Poly Prep softball diamond sits diagonally opposite the baseball diamond. It features a skinned infield and enclosed team benches.
- Baseball and softball dugouts, scoreboards, batting cages, bullpens, along with all new bleachers and a press box, were all part of the 2022/23 renovation projects.

BASEBALL & SOFTBALL TRAINING CENTER
- One of only a few indoor baseball/softball facilities in New York City, this innovative structure houses three individual batting and pitching tunnels inside an all-season “bubble,” allowing Poly’s Baseball and Softball student-athletes to train regardless of weather conditions.
TRACK AND FIELD FACILITY
Poly student-athletes train and compete on our iconic blue and gray, six-lane Mondotrack. The Track and Field facilities at Poly also include areas for jumping and throwing field events. The campus is also utilized for cross country running and endurance training.
GYMNASIUMS
Poly Prep has multiple gyms for indoor sports and training.
The Legacy Gym was recently upgraded with professional-level hardwood floors and new scoreboards. It features a competition court as well as a practice court. It has 10 baskets and can house three volleyball courts making it an ideal training facility for Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball and Boys’ and Girls’ Volleyball.
The state-of-the-art Novogratz Center for Athletics first opened its doors for competition in 2015. The 27,900 s.f. facility is home to the Poly Prep Wrestling, Boys’ and Girls’ Squash, Boys’ and Girls’ Volleyball programs. It also is used for Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball practice and games, as well as various Middle and Upper School Physical Education classes.
FITNESS CENTERS
Poly Prep has two fitness centers on the Dyker Heights campus. The High Performance Lab (HPL) contain the tools and equipment used by our skilled strength and conditioning staff, coaches, and physical educators to help each student achieve their short- and long-term fitness and lifelong wellness goals.
The advanced HPL facility boasts professional grade equipment. It currently includes: 5 Sorinx Rack Systems (with a wide variety of dumbells and kettle bells), 2 jammer arms, a VertiMax, plyometric equipment, resistance bands, medicine balls, yoga mats, Run Rocket Sprint Resistant Trainer, spin bikes, treadmills, rowers, and a Jacobs Ladder Climbing Machine.
TENNIS COURTS
The Boys’ and Girls’ Tennis teams train and compete on campus on six recently upgraded blue hard courts with bench seating.
POOLS
The Poly Prep campus has three pools. The Poly Prep Boys’ and Girls’ Swim teams utilize our four-lane indoor pool. Poly also recently added two new heated outdoor pools that our teams use for aquatic training and conditioning.
DYKER BEACH GOLF COURSE
Steps from the Poly Prep Dyker Heights campus is Dyker Beach Golf Course where our Poly Prep Golf team practices and hosts our home matches.
Lower School Physical Education
Our Lower School Physical Education program enjoys a secure playground, an indoor gymnasium for skill building and play—and beautiful Prospect Park for outdoor activities.
